I CAN HELP Research Consent and IRB Details

This research project has been approved by Humboldt State University Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subject, IRB number 18-203 on May 21, 2019.  You are invited to participate by taking a 10 question survey before and after the I CAN HELP training to help us determine if we have effectively increased knowledge about issues related to mental health literacy and suicide. You have the right to stop the survey at any time. You may decline to participate and still take part in the training with no negative consequences.

Your information is collected in an aggregate form stored separately from research data. By submitting your email address you allow us to conduct follow up research, however, this is optional. If submitted your email address will not be used by other organizations or to identify your individual responses. Secondary copies of anonymous data will be stored on researchers individual computers and may be maintained indefinitely by the primary researcher. As the datasets contain no personally identifiable information of any kind, the research team believes this does not pose any additional risk to participants.

If you have questions or concerns about this, you may contact research lead Dr. Brian Mistler.
